I cannot figure out would you just said...
i'm looking at the Inforamtion systems research report for what they think I/T budgets will increase this yr in europe and USA...
it says they are spending money.
Since you are in finance, you know that internet service, long distance , and local phone service, pagers, cell phones, the works is dropping drastically.
for I/S budgets to still go up when a significant part of the I/S budget is telecom..then that's alotta pcs and alike.
and Rf scanner, bar code, intenet, network, groupware, etc. etc.

Most I/T groups are at least looking at client server and relational databases with distributed systems with either thin client or thick aor mixture.

So, what is your per minute ld rate and whatd oes local service cost????

vince, this has always been my point...asking questions and alike are great... but debating I/S and what they are doing ad nosium when you could be adding a significant wealth of knowledge to the thread with your finance....doesn't help us to contantly over debate me on I/S
when that is not your profession..not even close.

Vincent,
I agree! CPQ should make a ton-o-money replacing Legacy systems (mini and mainframe) with Y2K enabled Compaq servers. I am sure the others you have mentioned can too.

Vincent, I can understand the relationship between HWP & CPQ to
year 2k problems. But how does Cisco fit into the picture ??
