Right. You're a real fiscal conservative. Because we always want government to pick winners and losers.

Well, he certainly is a self-promoter like Edison was...

Don't get me wrong. I like Musk. What he is doing with SpaceX is something that should have been done decades ago. He has the money and connections that the other private attempts at private space access didn't have and was able to stick it out past the initial failures that seem to be inevitable.

They were really close with the landing. On his twitter feed, Musk claims that it was a stiction problem in the bipropellant valve. That would explain what happened and be an easy fix. So the next one should do it. Being able to recover just the first stage is a major game-changer.

Personally, I think he should change plans and colonize Venus first. Radiation is a big problem for Mars, not to mention the likelihood of their being life on Mars

He's a billionaire. Let him fund himself. No welfare for billionaires or their expensive toy cars.

The U.S. needs to FUND Elon Musk with whatever Billions he needs.

Oh please! The only reason his car company made any money was selling outlandish carbon credits thanks to CA. The credits have dropped so much in price that the business is no longer viable. I predict he'll be out of the car business within two years.

The guy has interesting ideas but not from a smart business perspective. Maybe he'll get lucky with the battery thing.
