I agree. Also, my guess is the Altera volume will fill some of those fabs which is why they considered buying the company.

Should we raise the Minimum Wage to $15/hr?

I have many mixed feelings.
Kevin O'Leary on Value of Liberal Arts Degree theglobeandmail.com

Best parts are at the very end on what motivated Kevin O'Leary to change from flipping burger job to super rich on Shark Tank

I think cleaning tables at Farrells Ice Cream Parlor and washing cars at the car wash in high school were great motivators for me.

It bugs me that we want to make all those jobs come with pay that will support a family.... I believe that when I washed cars the only "adults" who worked there were those who couldn't hold a decent job due to time in jail or substance abuse issues.

It seems that by sending so many of our "middle class jobs" overseas due to tax policy (you have money overseas and can spend it there on labor or bring it home, pay a 35% tax then spend what is left on labor) that the reactionary solution is to make the high school jobs pay more... which will eventually lead to automating many of those jobs.
