<Welcome to the age of investing boredom> Yes, I am glad my work season is beginning. I have to guard against just doing something for the sake of doing something investing.
I did swap out T for PM yesterday. Hopefully not just one dog for another. I'd held T since 2009. Still holding BCE and VZ- for now.

I do hold a couple of index funds myself, admiral shares in midcap growth and smallcap growth at Vanguard.
Cheap expense ratio on both @ .09%

Barbell approach.

I also think some have migrated more towards Twitter and Stocktwits, and not providing input on real detailed message boards or blogs.

I still spend a lot of time reading CoBF (and writing snarky comments there). But overall, most of my money now is in long-term vehicles and I just have to keep myself from tampering with them. Shorter term investing money is in oil cos and that's also "no tamper" zone until oil goes up to $80 at least and/or these stocks run up hugely in anticipation.

I still look at ideas, but most of them are not worth the time or effort. If I can see only 10% annual return for long time or 15% for couple years in a so-so company, why not put that money into FRFHF or BRKA and just forget it? I have to see 50% or more upside to consider a non-long-term vehicle. And such opportunities are very few right now IMHO.

I don't buy indexes yet (except for 401(k) where I have to) preferring FRFHF or other owner-operator vehicles. I might change my mind though.

I should find myself another pastime, since never-sell stocks and/or index funds gonna kill this one. ;)

There are some investors active in micro cap cigar butt space like oddballstocks.com
These require quite a lot of work for people who are interested. I don't like micro cap cigar butt space though, so that's not for me. :)
