Kash, Intel has taken a number of steps which I forecast based on common sense observations. One of them is the plan to bring the quarter-micron technology into the high-margin portable segment first. They can ramp-up and earn big bucks in the process. Intel is far ahead with mobile solutions. There is another move, which I have been predicting using CSO and that is the use of two or more processors as standard equipment for home and desktop use. Should Intel's yields permit, this would be the last shovel of dirt on the already nailed and lowered AMD coffin -- getting a little ahead of myself I guess.

As an aside, high-bandwith connectivity will continue to accelerate and we will see renewed demand for high-powered processors at low-cost. In other words, general purpose communications and entertainment boxes represent real earnings potential in 1998 and beyond.

Kash,

Re: "A couple of points ..."

I would say that you are right on more than just "a couple of points".
