You mean those on SSI? A lot of them don't pay income taxes. And yeah, they are dependent on the government for healthcare, food, housing, you name it.

A lot of them voted for Romney.

OTOH, just because someone doesn't make enough to pay income taxes, doesn't mean that they think of themselves as victims. Or dependent on social services.

There isn't 47 percent of the population that get social services. Now you can get close to that number if you also include people on SSI and uniformed military. But you cannot claim that even those who have received some form of social services in any given year are never going to vote Republican. Much less those other two categories.

His statement was wrong on many levels. He was obviously pandering to that crowd.

And lying through his teeth. But, he is a Republican. Y'all do that.

That's right. Ten, because 67% of Americans believed THEY were in the 47% Romney was talking about. Geezers like me, many Republican, getting SS and/or Medicare..

Thanks for the SS. It really makes my life ever so much more enjoyable. Just keep paying in!

Do you ever worry about all the geezer Republicans on SS and Medicare suddenly
realizing that their economic well being, if not their very LIFE, depends on the
Democrats being able to prevent the Republicans from killing those programs?
