I recommended your post, but don't totally agree with all of it..

Certainly concur that WS is making too much money while "main street" is getting screwed.. We have plenty of work that needs to be done on infrastructure and the physical economy..

But I agree with limitations on what can be purchased with Food Stamps..

I also believe that Public Sector unions are a problem. Look at the average salary for a Federal worker, in comparison to the average private sector job (not even counting the benefits)..

As for the Police unions, while I firmly support PROFESSIONAL law enforcement for the purpose of maintain civil order and peace, I do not believe that a badge grants special rights. I've seen enough video evidence of outright police misconduct that does not get punished (except by paid administrative leave) to believe that police unions have become too powerful and the people are losing accountability. But the people at the local level have to hold their political leaders accountable at the ballot box..

Taxes have to be lower. Every dollar in tax is money that is removed from the private sector and redistributed according to the desire of the politicians and crony capitalists.

That said, I also believe we need to limit subsidies to corporations.. There are areas where public R&D is desirable. But in exchange, we need to create an atmosphere where foreign earnings can return to be invested in the US, not held outside of the country for fear of extraordinary taxation (there is no doubt our corporate rates are too high and it creates a disincentive for that money to come back to the US, and domestically the taxes get passed on to the final cost of the product, and thereby to the consumer).

A lot of problems, and not many easy (politically speaking) fixes..

But we know the solution lies in a properly structured, and regulated, private sector. Gov't never produces wealth. It only redistributes it..
