My point was and is that SW cannot be discounted when it is the one making money. And frankly, they have done so on the basis of an innovative business model, which is something I attribute a lot of significance to.

It is not surprising that you don't see profitability as an important metric. But the reality is that requiring profitability imposes a constraint on SW the others pretty much ignore. Which is strange to me.

Not only is Southwest third of forth in the US by passenger miles, its 3rd in market cap (and very close to the top two)

It also is third in profits.

So third in passenger miles, profits, and market cap, and probably forth in revenue (you didn't post your link but I looked it up for the big four when I looked up the other stats).
