Isn't the sales tax paid by the buyer though? Amazon - based in Seattle - has been able to do all it has accomplished while being in a State that has no income tax - BUT a sales tax. From my perspective it makes more sense to tax consumption (a sales tax) than it is to tax income. .........Most states have both now I believe and yet in Washington State with its exploding economy we still rely on the sales tax.
