<<So, is it your position that the future us the US is not potentially affected?>>

That isn't my position, nor is it our great president Obama's! The both of us feel there are MANY other actors, some local, some much closer than us, that need to fully engage ISIS before WE put even one trooper's boot on the ground. No more 'world cop'.

Everyone is tired of the wars. Myself included.

.....I don't claim to know enough details to list a complete set of things we should do............but I'd have unlimited airstrikes against any realistic target with special forces on the ground as spotters......I would arm the Kurds DIRECTLY with sufficient heavy weapons to counter any ISIS weapons superiority. I would stop any oil exportation out of the area.either by pipeline or tanker truck. Simple strafing will stop any tanker trunk movement in short order. My understanding is we do NONE of these things.
