Hi Flan,
Long time lurker, first time poster here. No, you are not alone. My margin account is down BIG time (NE, FGII, EVI). Had to sell EVI at a loss to prevent a margin call. Only personally investing a small amount so trying to get maximum benefit through margin. Now I am feeling the other edge of the profit/loss sword.

Flan: I was smart and nimble and sold before the first two drops in October & November, cut losses as the false rallies after that began to turn red, then bought in several weeks ago and decided to stop trading in and out and "draw a line in the sand"... Now buried in a sandstorm... Long GW, PTEN, RIG, DO, and FLC. Fortunately, I keep margin to a minimum, but my drilling profits for the year would vaporize if I sold at this point. Our bodies will be floating side by side next to the Golden Gate.

Alex

Re: Lets have a show of hands.

I with ya brother, holding NE, GW, and GLM which I picked up
yesterday thinking it was a good buy in. But I do believe this is
the sector for "98", fundamentally and mentally speaking. What some brokerage house going bankrupt in Southeast Asia has to do with the dayrates on a drilling platform in the Gulf or North Sea, I wish someone would explain to me because there ain't nothing wrong with our investments as far as I can tell. Any connections?

Joe

So happy to hear from someone else who owns TESOF. I am overweighted in this sector because everything I read and learn keeps telling me to be overweight in this sector. People are panicing and selling anything they have profit in. After this shakes out, we still have an overweighting in a sector that will be one of the few sectors to meet and beat earnings est. in 1998. Other investors will start to figure that out, they are just a little slower than us!
