I agree. If I figure out how much I've spent going from Office 4.3 to Office95 to Office97, then that's much more than I've spent going from Win3.11 to Win95/Win3.51 to Win4.0. And then there's the VB upgrades, the '98 series (FrontPage and Money), and . . .

Don't know if I can fault SUNW with staying with UNIX, however, I'm not a big UNIX fan anymore. I haven't work with a Sparc since '90, but I'm doing a bit of HP-UX now. I think the high end work stations will stay with UNIX, but believe that NT will eat UNIX's lunch at the low end, so HP and SUNW will be left to fight it out for the high end UNIX box market. Me, I'm sticking with MSFT, CPQ, and INTC.
