If you have not noticed, I know more than the average layman about U.S. law, this is not a good thing, for I am not a lawyer.

Tee hee, I guess that's better that the other way around, or not. What I've noticed is that you and Dowd seem to presume anything with microsoft.com on it is the truth. Poor little Microsoft, the greatest company in the history of the known universe, harrassed by a lilliputian hoard who don't understand the law, or technology, or economics with the precise clarity and omniscient vision of Bill, Reg, and Ayn.

To attempt to attach a human trait to a corporate entity is down right silly. People can be good or bad, corporations can not, period.

Well, legally, corporations get all these things attached to them that seem sort of human, but they like to pick and chose- they get all the rights and none of the responsibilities. It's all so unfair!

And to preempt the ad hominem du jour of the day, yes, I got to calm down and I'm blowing hot air, blah blah blah. Nevertheless, I can't help but chuckle in the course of my continuing education in ethics, courtesy, and humor. At least I'm getting plenty of that last out of this.

Cheers, Dan.

Reggie,

"I would much rather be a rich man who is guilty than a poor man who is innocent. "

First, you condone perjury and now this? Makes me wonder if your Regimodel is perhaps some sort of scam that you plan on fleecing a few institutions with. Oh, yeah, I forgot you believe a lack of morals displays good business sense.

Enough preaching, but since you know so much about the legal system, does the OEM license prevent the OEM from installing other OS's on the machines or just force the OEM to install Windows on ALL the machines?

In a capitalist market, such agreements would not be needed since the consumer would select which was the best OS anyways. So why does MSFT strongarm these OEM's? No need to force anyone to do anything in a free-market unless the products cannot sell themselves.

Cheers,

Norm

"No there is none good" and the government is the biggest liar of all.
Think about the troops coming home from Bosnia last year HoHo. The gov't. broke 3 deadlines and now they have settled on indefinite. I really get a laugh out of these Trotskites who are so pro-government when the likes of Billy are at the helm or sleeping below decks or whatever.

Give me a break- who is the biggest liar in the world- big government-if you don't think so tr and live on your Social Security.
