"Nevertheless, according to Intelect ASW data, Compaq was the No. 1 supplier of sub-$1,000 PCs in October. Packard Bell was the top supplier of computers in the $1,000 to $1,500 price range. Hewlett-Packard was tops for sales of PCs priced at more than $1,500."
