Don't know about Freedmans "muddledness".

You can start with his theories lead to fragile economies that tend to fail in a big way. Sometimes, like in Kansas, they fail right off the bat. They also contribute to widening the inequality gap, but i-node sees that as a feature.

Milton Friedman was never muddled. Ever. Because he understood that in almost all cases one can refer back to free market principles and come to the right conclusions.

His clarity was unmatched by anyone I know of on the topics of economics.
