You imply that the Jan 12 1/2 puts were "bought." You or I or anyone could sell them instead if we are bearish. The specialist would buy them and set up a neutral position by selling the stock short. This action could then be interpreted as a bottom.

The price shows you whether they're being bought or sold. Sounds like they're being bought.

I never fool with puts and calls so any observation that I would make on your info would most likely be faulty. First part sounds bearish-second part sounds bullish. I have felt that possibly one of the reasons that we fell back to 12+ the last few days was due to options expiration. Clue me in on your interpretation.
