Dulane....just remember, no way to count empties if your drinking tap beer at the corner dive....at least that's my philosophy. I see that in the 12/22 edition, IBD has some info from International Data Corp on the worldwide pc market. Shows a market breakdown with CPQ in charge of 18.8% of the U.S. market and 14.1% of the worldwide market. Wonder if you or anyone on the thread can give these numbers a thumbs up or down as to performance?? Also says that pc shipments are to approach 127 million units in 2001, a 58% increase from 80 million this year. S.

Dulane..talked to a friend tonite who has been shopping for a computer. He wants a Compaq(I don't know the model)that has been advertised locally for $1899.00(not including the monitor). He had to back-order the unit, as all 3 stores(Best Buy, Circuit City, and Staples)had no inventory. He said that the clerks at the stores told him that it is one of the hottest sellers this Christmas and that they can't keep it in stock. Stephen
