Page 187 of the Jan. Computer Shopper lists Jaz as the Readers' Choice for *Best Removable/Backup Drive*.

Perhaps someone could let HG know?

Nice write-up, but it too avoids answering HG's pressing concern about just what IOM is doing with all those trashed Jaz's that must have been returned. Oh, well.

Tried to find the article at the CS on-line site and only came up with this look at removeables in general from the 98 Buying Guide: zdnet.com

Oh yeah, article says that last year Jaz was voted Best New Product. Imagine what awards they mightt have won if the damn thing had been any good!

Gary,

Can't agree with you on this one. Any kind of response to HERBies would only open the door to the same kind of interaction we see on this thread with BO and Rocky. I do agree that it would be nice to have HG as a friend, but (IMO) I doubt that his real agenda, whatever it is, would ever allow that end.

Also, I wonder (a rethorical question) what, if anything, IOM IR had to do with Friday's CC?

Vaughn

I agree that IOM should answer HG. By not answering, IOM is supporting his claim that there is a high failure rate of Jazz drives. Maybe HG's data is correct, and IOM can't respond to his claims. Is it possible that IOM does have a major problem with the Jazz drive's failure rate???

If someone has contacts at IOM, they may be able to confirm whether or not there is a problem with the Jazz. I don't believe this is insider information as defined by the SEC. The other thing I don't understand, if HG has the failure information, I must believe the Analysts that follow the company have the information as well.

Comments are welcome,
