I was just quoting Hank about TA. In my opinion TA is only useful for seeing what has already happened. Hanks's contention that stocks tell the future has been proved wrong so often that it's not worth arguing.

I agree that the outlook is good for the countries that let markets do their thing. The whole Asia problem was caused by those governments propping up companies and banks that were doing things that didn't make sense except in an environment where they knew the government would bail them out. And bailouts only work for awhile because higher taxes needed to fund them stifle growth drying up the revenues needed for the bailouts. Hong Kong has mostly dodged the problems because they don't try to control the market. Hopefully Beijing will let them continue.
