That shouldn't surprised you. They rewrite history to suit their ideological positions

BTW recently I heard a funny story about WW II. Apparently, the Brits understanding of how radar work and how it could be used to their advantage militarily improved right before WW II. The Germans couldn't understand how the Brits were able 'to see' their ships and planes and cities esp in darkness. The Brits didn't want the Germans to know they were using radar so they began to spread the rumor that British pilots were eating lots of carrots which improved their vision esp at nite. And its from there the myth developed that carrots are good for eyesight:
