It was a trick question. We tend to pay more for higher expected growth rates than we do for just a $ of estimated earnings. But security counts. And studies done by Malkiel show that investors are not adequately compensated for taking extra risk. (But it's a lot more fun than getting rich slowly in some dull Dow stocks.)
