IF you are getting a blue screen it should have the word "STOP" followed by some numbers. The first of those numbers will identify the broad category of problem. You need to google it. The four numbers that follow it will explain the specific memory address and hence, the offending software.

First thing to check it whether the computer needs dirt cleaned out of the cooling fan on the chip. If the CPU overheats, particularly on older computers, it will almost always end in a blue screen. If you have crap in the heat sink (cooling fins) on the processor you have to get it out.

I've mentioned before that my computer has been crashing and putting up a blue screen.

Have you installed Blue Scree View? It helps single out what is causing the error. It helped me when I was getting them. It was nothing more than a simple change in one program setting for me when it was driving me nuts.

Turn off all your extensions and additions to you browser. See if that helps. You can always try resetting your browser to it's default settings. Try using Internet Explorer.

Once your OS is working why not use System Restore back to an earlier date when you weren't experiencing these symptoms?

That is System Resto0re , not Factory Restore.
