I don't think that the Monday morning sell off was caused by HFT trading, this was retail and institutional owners panicking and creating some liquidity dislocations. I believe that professional traders and probably HFT traders took advantage of this and got some of the really whacky trades (like JPM at $50), because these were hard (but not impossible) to get for us. I had quite a few limit orders open in selected stocks, but those either did not have whacky trades or I did not get fills.

Any particular reason you don't use AON orders?
