Martin Pring suggests (part of my StockCharts subscription) that this VIX chart indicates we MIGHT make a lower low, but if we do, it will be short lived. More at facebook.com

Getting very close... sneezing distance. Sept 3 Investors Intelligence (II) Bulls minus Bears Sentiment Graph That is the lowest difference since 2011 and you know what happened back then... the graph shows if you forgot. I would like to see more bears than bulls in the II Poll.

This one has more volatility which I think makes it more useful AAII Bulls & Bears Sentiment Survey & Graph Looks like a 2-year + (maybe 3 years) low... AAII is a group anyone can join and they don't allow ballot box stuffing. The AAII Investor Sentiment Survey measures the percentage of individual investors who are bullish, bearish, and neutral on the stock market for the next six months; individuals are polled from the ranks of the AAII membership on a weekly basis. Only one vote per member is accepted in each weekly voting period
