I buy chip equipment makers.

Me too, especially when I can get them at a discount like last yr at 6x earnings.

I just need to take better advantage of it's manic-depressive nature.

This just takes discipline. It is very tempting to add to a position after it has gone up 4x in a yr saying "it is a real winner, I want more." Better discipline is to cash out 25% when that overvalued locally and then scoop up some more when it dips. (I did that for one client in a deferred account while I just hold my shares and understand that they are volatile).

Food for thought to support your argument...How many cars are sold each yr? Any idea of the electronic content of each of these? It is VERY high and will continue to grow. I saw a demo of a GPS system that will make the stereotype of a man never asking for directions extinct. Uses voice recognition, a CD ROM and a uProcessor. This alone would be like adding 16 or 32 MB worth of memory into every car. Cell phones will be the link to the internet. More technology for the low cost Rf devices to connect the phone the the network and Infrared devices to connect the phone to the car's computer (I design these IR devices).

Consider your car quits on the road. You call Ford on your phone and Ford's computer hooks to your car's computer and they have a chat. Ford's computer then calls a tow truck and tells it what parts to bring to fix your car or what shop to take it to that has the part.

Why worry about sub Zero PC's? This just expands the market for future uP upgrades once the barrier to entry is removed.
