Win 98 Update Shows Promise www5.zdnet.com

Good News for Microsoft! Fred Moody let me down last night, but PC Week, apostate on the "OS/browser" legal front, likes it anyway.

It has the department of justice hanging over it like a dark cloud and several features of debatable value, but Microsoft Corp.'s Windows 98 is nonetheless shaping up as a good upgrade.

Well, there was always this confusion from Redmond about whether it was a big thing or not, but the 2 1/2 year old retail release needs replacement, lest all those customers that are getting what they want now get confused with all this OSR2/2.5 talk.

Cheers, Dan.

Uhh, well at least we get a decent draft pick!

I really hope they trade up and go for Randy Moss (from my home town). That guy is incredible, if you haven't seen him. He's as fast as Deion Sanders*, but at 6'6". Unstoppable at WR. Physically, he can just dominate any corner in the NFL, much less college (and I'm sorry to say he burnt me in highschool, though not as bad (often) as everyone else (but hey, I'm only 5'9", so they shouldn't have made me try to cover him, anyway) (also, in keeping with "what's legal is whatever you could get away with," the refs never gave him any calls, so I did my best to do lots of holding/hanging) :). As Joe Theisman put it yesterday, "even at the NFL level, he's like a man among boys."

His biggest challenge is staying out of trouble (he got booted from both Florida State and Norte Dame, which is why he ended up at Marshall this year). So I guess he's fit right in at Big D. Seriously, I heard he's been good this year--not leaving the house except when he HAS to, in order to avoid any possible problem or temptation.

*I thought I was fast until I ran against this guy.
