Just got Norton Utilities 3.0 and it has a six month free trial to a service called Live Update Pro that looks just like oil change. Monthly subscription is around $4.00 after that. More competition for QDEK.

Also I was in Staples (Canada) looking around the shelves and found it difficult to identify QDEK products. Brand recognition packaging QDEK is not good. Symantec is really easy to find.

No, TuneUp was privately owned by Pat and Mike who licensed the anti-viral tool from Symantec. They ran in the red and Quarterdeck bought them out and licensed the antiviral tool from Elia-Shim. Quarterdeck scooped Symantec on this one.
