Thoughts on VW emissions crime. I've known since we had "smog checks" that you you can buy "chips" for cars to use "on the track" to get better performance at the expense of emissions.
  1. How big is the EPA? How much $ does it cost taxpayers each year, how many people are there and what are their main "jobs?"
  2. With all those people, how come none thought to verify that what is measured on a test when the vehicle is not moving reflects smog performance in real life driving situations?
  3. Are there any other auto makers actively cheating the smog tests?

It would be very easy to have two "chips" via a program in a car using the GPS so if the car is not moving while the wheels are moving at speeds for the test, the chip switches the engine profile to one that passes the tests.

It is SO EASY TO DO that you have to wonder how can the EPA be so stupid as to never checked for it.....
