The Compaq merger was widely regarded as foolish and badly mishandled, and a failure in the end. After the merger she forced through, everyone hated her. I was working with HP on projects at the time... know first hand. Everyone thought she was horrible. I get the feeling you don't follow stocks (let alone tech stocks), even though this is a tech stock site. This is about the only way you could be ignorant of her history. She is as successful as the Titanic.
