Meathead,
It was a Compaq, didn't notice the size and the trash is already gone so I can't look again.

Meathead, I just read that INTC is thinking about going away from slot one design to get pent. IIs into sub 1k computers. IMO this will further remove the luster from PCs making them truly toster like. <ggg> Just kidding on the toster part.

Here in the Midwest, the Best Buy type outlets are selling a CPQ sub zero with a 14" monitor and a Lexmark color printer for $1039.00 with a $40.00 mfg. rebate...final cost, $999.00. Stephen

This is the same thing that happened to a friend of mine last year.
He bought a Compaq at a very cheap price, and was given a free
monitor valued at around $400. The Compaq was a discontinued
model, and the monitor was actually a 14" with an inflated retail
value of $400.

I wonder if these Compaqs this season are old models, but I'm sure
the monitor is no bigger than 15" according to their ads in CompUSA.
