The Windows 10 download is about 3 GB. Is D: a separate drive or a partition? You're really hurting for space.

What are the capacities for your C: and D: drives?

kidl, since C: is almost full and D: is empty I suggest you post the size of C: and D:
If C: has a lot of large non-OS files [videos, music], you could move them to D:

Or, expand C: at the expense of D:
This can be done without moving files beforehand

From what has been said I'd do this:

1. make a backup image and save it on D: or an external HD
2. Expand C: by taking empty space from D: [determine later how much and how]
3. install Windows 10
