Hi Bob,
Alan is not here so I will be glad to answer your question. We have a New Testament in Hebrew and the Lords actual name given Him at His (Circumsion) was Yeshua Ben Yosef. In english translations that ends up Jesus the son of Joseph. The reason I use this name is because the English translation is not totally correct. The Hebrew name given Him by the angel Gabriel means Salvation the same name as Joshua who led the Israelites into the promised land as the Lord has led all of us into the eternal promised land. That is what Yeshua means to me and why I use that name and the name Jesus Christ also because He was also the Anointed One of the God of Abraham.Thank you for your courteous question. Lord Bless you, Nancy

Bob, I believe with all my heart the "feud" is verbal illusions. Especially in hasty writing, with no time to edit, there is much problem. Given time, we will see that an incredible and thorough Bible study was created covering every possible base from which anyone could ere in the matter. I only hope someone can take it out from here where it can really be of benefit to all.

We deal with things that are usually dealt with at the highest levels of theological seminaries sometimes, and with many of our discussions in much haste from busy people, and so what can anyone expect?

><>...Jesus, a name above all names!..><>

Bob, Yeshua is our Lord Jesus's name in Hebrew. Since His blessed mother was an Hebrew, Yeshua is what she called Him.And because He lived among the Jews and Israelites, He would have also been known as Yeshua to all who knew Him....Jesus is only the english translation of Yeshua

As a matter of fact Jesus #2424 in Strongs Gr. states that this name is of Hebrew origin. Yehoshua..translated Yoshua or more precisely, Yeshua. It is transliterated YAVH'S Savior

The name spelled Jesus appears no where in the original manuscripts! It was translated from Yehoshua, Yoshua or again more precisely, Yeshua, for us english speaking people, to Jesus... solely for the sake of english speaking people. But no matter how you say it it means YHVH's Savior!....He is our Lord!

Just as Spanish translations would have it spelled and pronounced in Spanish, Italian in Itanian, Russian in russian, French in french, etc, etc, etc,.

Even the blessed mother herself was not called Mary, she was called Miriam, which is also of Hebrew origin. We who speak the english tongue call her Mary for convenience. Because Mary is how we pronounce Miriam in english.

I hope this helps
Have a good day
Shalom...><>
