Re: CYMI earnings next quarter

If I recall it correctly, last quarter CYMI had $6M put aside for service under warranties. I assume that they'd fixed the design problems and replaced the faulty elements within this budget. Accordingly, earnings should improve considerably vs. last quarter, even if they ship the same number of lasers:

$6M/30M shares = $.20/share before taxes.

Without additional (or even with limited additional)put-asides and under a very conservative assumption of no growth in shipments, next quarter EPS should be in .25-.30 range - unless new design elements cost much more than the earlier versions and R&D into 193nm lasers does not increase dramatically vs. last quarter.

Whether the good earnings will translate into the better share price is another question. Analysts will probably concentrate on order backlogs - and I think even CYMI management can't reliably predict those beyond two quarters.

Regards,

Y.
