I think there SHOULD be a reason to ALLOW something that could cause multiple deaths to innocent people.

Every gun can do that, ever car or truck or piece of heavy equipment can do that. All sorts of non-obvious things can do that in addition to many obvious ones.

But, if you want automatic weapons

An AR-15 is not an automatic weapon. It is pretty much functionally identical to one of those "a couple of rifles... in your home"

Also, anybody that has ANY of the above mentioned weapons should be required to carry liability insurance just as every car owner is.

Its not true that every car owner is.

"But, if you want automatic weapons" The guns you object to are NOT automatic weapons. They're semi-automatic .. just like most hand guns and many shotguns and hunting rifles. And people can and do hunt with military looking semi-auto rifles.
