Let's give Putin a few years for Syria to turn into another Afghanistan...

There are some interesting parallels. It has been speculated that one of the reasons why Russia sent in troops was the effectiveness of the antitank weaponry we have been supplying the rebels with.

Bentway,
Let's give Putin a few years for Syria to turn into another Afghanistan...
This is actually a very good reason for disengagement.

The problem is that Obama isn't pursuing disengagement. Instead, he's continuing his half-hearted war against ISIS and his half-hearted support of the "moderate" rebels in the Syrian civil war.

The NYTimes is reporting that US weaponry is turning Syria into a proxy war between Russia and America. And guess who's winning that proxy war?

That's why I'm saying that Putin is "manhandling" Obama, because Obama isn't making any hard decisions, one way or another. Even getting the f--- out takes political backbone given the horrors of ISIS, the refugee crisis, and the temptation to do something about it.

Leading from his behind ...
