How does holding the gun manufacturers liable rate with you? Lawsuits would shut them down.

You have but didn't recognize it because they didn't use the confiscation word. Both Hillary and Obama praised Australia as a model of "reasonable" gun control. What Australia did was confiscate guns, so when they hold up Oz as a model they want to confiscate all the guns. Notice the young jihadi who recently shot a civilian police employee in the head was able to arm himself though. Gun confiscation only works on people willing to obey the law and it's not them society needs to worry about.
