This business with Ataturk leading all the categories, even entertainment for crying out loud, brings to mind a situation, in the late 50's I think, when the fans used to elect the Baseball All-Star Teams. One year a concerted effort in Cincinnati resulted in the eight National League starters other than the pitcher (selected by the manager) were the Cincinnati Reds' regular starting lineup. That resulted in the team being selected in subsequent years without the fans voting. I think it has changed back now, but it sure was glorious for a kid's home team to be the entire National League All-Star team starting line-up. I hope cooler heads prevail at Time Magazine.

My choice for MAN OF THE CENTURY? Henry Ford. I think he did more to change the way more people live than anyone else. The Industrial Revolution just sputtered along until he got the moving assembly line proven and mass marketing resulted; the catalyst for improving living standards all over the world and continuing today. IMHO.

They are and it's not a bad thing as the HIGH ILLEGAL NAKED Short position may be uncovered by them! I and all other longs welcomed the 10 free days we are getting to force the brokerage firms to get off their backsides and demand for the RMIL stock certificates in NAME form. As we are approx 78,000 shares away from the float being completely issued in NAME form and we have approx 460,000 being requested for those 78,000 shares. Plus another 400,000 RMIL shares in IRA about ready to be demanded in NAME form! There is no way 860,000 shares can be convereted when approx 78,000 shares are available. The MM and the shorts have been caught with their pants down around their ankles and are pulling all the stop to stop the pending short squeeze!

This what I read in a 1976 National Geographic source about Armenians.

Respected as artisans, scientists, and energetic merchants, Armenians form a highly concentrated population in the rocky valleys of Transcaucasia. Adherents to the Armenian Church - a distinctive form of Orthodox Christianity - they receive guidance from Catholicos, head of the church. The character of the Armenians is both strengthened and saddened by a dark and bloody history of wars, occupations, massacres, and deportations. Their traditional homeland was centered in northern Turkey, but Armenian culture thrives chiefly in Soviet Armenia. Since World War II, the republic has welcomed more than 200,000 Armenians from communities abroad, including the United States.

Armenian family names are common in certain parts of the USA such as California. According to what I've heard from Armenian sources, there was a general genocide of Armenians by Turks after WW I. Turkey chose to be on the side of the Central Powers during the first War. I suspect the Armenians didn't agree.

The Turkish people, as opposed to the Armenians, came from Central Asia where other Turkic languages are spoken such as Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Kirghiz, Turkmen, and Uzbek. The Christian Armenians seem to be surrounded by Muslim peoples, and after the breakup of the Soviet Union, were involved with ethnic troubles in Azerbaijan. That is roughly an area where there are oil fields and to the east of Azerbaijan is the Caspian Sea.
