Just follow the money. Big pharma donates to both parties just like wall street. This is one reason I support Trump. He's wise to buying off politicians. He doesn't need to take campaign contributions, a lot of which come with strings.

>> One, have single payer.

Yes, the single payer known as "Medicare" has worked out mighty well. After a mere 50 years in existence, it is more than 50 Trillion in debt. And that is with massive subsidies received from the privately insured in the form of cost shifts.

So, how about you explain your rationale for claiming single payer for all is a good idea. Something besides, "Because another country does it." Because we all know there are a lot of moving parts in a $3 Trillion system and the variables are all wildly different.

Make the as to how the United States can reasonably anticipate single payer for all to perform better than what we now have given the experience with Medicare.

>> Two, have the government negotiate with the pharmaceutical companies on price. New Zealand does both,

Government doesn't negotiate. It mandates. There is a huge difference if you want the development of new drugs to occur. It is, economically, over your head, but you can comment if you would like.
