i think you are right on about gdt having breakout earnings on feb 3.
my cousin and his partners firmly believe that gdt has a large, better than 50% easily, share of the stent market.
they are betting, and they have yet to be wrong, (see profits in avei from 22-66) that gdt will hit 80 after the news.
remember, gdt is taking market share from j&j.
the worst thing for gdt is if J&j buys avei.
the best thing is if gdt buys avei. they will then dominate the stent market easily until 2000.
the question may be can gdt afford to buy avei.
a better question may be can J&j afford not to.

either way, avei will not be a independent concern in 1999.
