Is anyone out there following Guidant Corp? I have held this issue since it was spun off from Eli Lilly in August 1995. Guidant makes medical products such as pacemakers, stents, etc. Major competitors are Medtronic, St. Jude Medical and J&J.

The company appears to be well managed, and uses EVA to help ensure capital employed increases shareholder value. A recent report in Barron's (11/30/96) suggested that new products to be introduced in 1997 should fuel continued earnings growth.
