I have not seen that goal articulated. I think that CS is in a challenging position to accomplish any type of ownership of the IP Switch marketplace w/out further acquisition.

CS is known for L2 switching (bridging); note the name change in the MMAC+ to frame up a product line under the SmartSwitch moniker.

CS has never had a router (the basis for an L3 or IP switch). It is possible that DEC has something to offer here, though. DEC was certainly not a routing leader, but they did have product (now CS's).

No doubt, though, IP Switching is the current *hot growth* product space to target.
