Elroy, my sense is that we will never know.
For Egypt if it was any sort of terrorist act it will be a very serious blow.

My understanding is that several millions tourist come every year to the shores of the Red Sea, see the chat UK PM had with Egypt President.

Russia not interested to admit that it was a terror act as a result of its involvement in Syria as the support for the military action in Syria will evaporate

My hunch they will fabricate something that generated the flash and not blame it on the airline.
Remember the plane was manufactured in Europe so there is a side game there also as Holland wants to apply penalties for MH17 on Russia.

BBC transport correspondent Richard Westcott said there was some concern over airport security screening in Sharm el-Sheikh.Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin said the delays would allow UK experts time to make sure "the right security measures are in place".

"We can not categorically say why the Russia jet crashed but we have become concerned that the plan may well have been brought down as a result of an explosive device," he said.
