I can assure you he could, if he wanted to, get a kid into West Point and tell whoever needed to know later.

I think he could have too, but not in the arrogant way you articulate it...it's reasonable to expect that Westmoreland could have called Carson's congressman and/or senator and recommended the kid...and it would have probably worked...still the academy would need to admit him....which would probably work too.

I just think it's strange that this man expresses himself so in-artfully and without accuracy of word nor projected knowledge.
