" but i do not see a bounty being put on the head of christians bashers as opposed to people like Salman Rushdie,"

I've seen abortion doctors killed. But hey, you think what you want. We'll just disagree.

No, you were being brave. It is good to air it out. I do need to be more careful, I do not ever want to be a hypocrite. This is a very tough problem. The suffering of any child has always upset me greatly. I read Infidel by Ayaan Hersi Ali and the childhood she describes is horrifying. As is the picture Barbara Wood and Malala paint.

Anyone who wants to give a pass to all of Islam must address the reality they put forth first, IMO. We cannot just overlook it. Salman Rushdie was a good example, as well Ayaan Hersi Ali's who's co author (Van Gough who was stabbed to death) had to have the Neatherland's put a 24 hour 7 day a week guard on her. All they did was produce a movie about abused Somalia women. In the end they could not protect her and she had to leave the country and moved to the US. And she was a member of parliament.

Those are pretty big deals in my book.

I am spending 10 days with my kids over thanksgiving and will talk with them about this subject. Get the smart kids opinion.

This problem is very very complicated and very very complicated problems require complicated solutions.

One of my favorite thinkers , H.L Mencken once said: "for every complex problem there is a simple answer, and it is usually wrong-lol>"

Bill Maher has the idea that Islam is the problem. He's wrong. NO Islamic scholars consider what ISIS is doing is in any way 'Islamic'. One telling fact is that one of the Paris attackers ordered two books on Amazon, 'Islam for Dummies' and 'The Koran for Dummies'! True fact!
