Global 3Q15 semiconductor equipment billings increase 9%, says SEMI

Worldwide semiconductor manufacturing equipment billings reached US$9.6 billion in the third quarter of 2015, according to SEMI. The billings figure is 9% higher than the same quarter a year ago, and 3% higher than the prior quarter.

Worldwide semiconductor equipment bookings were US$8.7 billion in the third quarter of 2015, SEMI said. The figure is 7% lower than the same quarter a year ago, and 14% lower than the bookings figure for the second quarter.

The data is gathered jointly with the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ) from over 100 global equipment companies that provide data on a monthly basis.
