Style, did you repopen your short position at 55. Looking 52 1/8. I see 46 by next week!

Lucretius,

Indeed Asian jitters are having an effect on the networking sector and high tech in general. In addition I think there have been a number of good points made about the downside possibilities for Cisco given that the share value has held up while other networkers have been pounded. Much of this is due to the perception (real or imagined depending on whom you talk to) that they are winning the market share wars.) However one thing that the shorts haven't considered is what if Cisco beats their number when they report in early Feb. rather than miss or meet it? What if they beat it by 5 cents or more? Does the stock value reflect this positive news and push past 60?

Your comment about CSCO at 46 next week is based upon what? An expecation that the Asian woes continue to pull down the sector? I'd like you're opinion on this. Is there other news you expect?

Finally, what about the positive affect on margins the Asian turmoil should have. Since Asia is a big producer of components for networking equipment won't this have a positive effect on costs and therefore margins? And given that only a small percentage of Cisco's sales are into the region (less so than other networkers) won't Cisco see a far greater benefit as it relates to margins than other networkers? Again, your opinion would be interesting.

Gary

No, unfortunately, I didn't. Looks like I missed some great action, too!

So you believe CSCO would bounce off its 200dma?
