Perhaps they are displacing their fear of their looming death by creating this boogeyman. A lot of people do that with irrational fears. Whether it's fear of flying, or fear of being blown up my terrorists- a lot of people are terrified of things that are simply very, very unlikely to happen to them, while completely ignoring the risks that are very real. At any rate, it's best to concentrate on the sane. You can't do anything with people who are irrational. You can argue with them- but you'll probably just end up making them even more sure of their irrational point of view. I can't tell you why some human brains work that way, but science tells us they do. Unless it brings you great joy to listen to idiots and to argue with them (without purpose or hope of beneficial outcome), I'd suggest you avoid them, and ignore them. I think it actually brings them happiness, of a weird and demented kind, to argue- so by interacting with them, or noticing them, you give them relevance (and no doubt they inflate that in their own minds to importance.) When people are a waste of life, leave them alone. It's just depressing to even think about them- and soon, like all of us, they and their fears will be six feet under... So, with the time you could have spent reading idiots, or arguing with them, bake a loaf of bread. Go for a walk with a friend. Take in a sunset- did you see the sunset tonight? Listen to some beautiful music as you sit in the garden. Pet the cat. Dust a bookcase. Read a book. Do anything rather than give a whit more notice to negative nellies who look at a world with a billion + Muslims and think that a few terrorists define all those people. Is there anything crazier than that?
