The Constitution doesn't mention the internet, typewriters, telegraphs, radio, tv, electronic sound systems .... so according to your logic free speech and free press doesn't apply to those media.

Crackpots sometimes use knives to go on stabbing sprees, so I guess they should as endangering life.

How would gun controllers have known Robert Dear was a dangerous crackpot?

So far I haven't read anything about him ever having been a mental patient or found guilty of anything beyond traffic offenses.
