Mr. Tate,
Greetings and Happy Holidays from a fellow expat in KL. I was wondering. Have you been shopping the KLSE? I began a month ago and plan a few more excursions. Wonder if it is worth its own thread here or shall we impinge on the good patience of those on the thread here?
Again, Merry Christmas and Happy new Year!
P.S. Are you by any chance associated with disk drivery in Malaysia? Just ignore the question if you prefer not to answer.
Best,
Stitch

Political system in Malaysia

BT, Stitch or anybody,

<< We won't know the answer about potential recovery until Feb/Mar. If the gov't takes further strong action this country will recover rapidly. If the egos get in the way who knows. >>

How democratic is the political system in Malaysia? Is it really free like the U.S. or is there some autocratic/patriachaic ruling (as in Indonesia I guess)? How free is Malaysia's political system e.g. when elections are? Is there a real opposition? Is free speech a problem for individuals or the media?

No need for a long essay, just give us an idea, if you find the time occasionally.

Thanks a lot,
Thomas
