Meathead,

RE:
"I've been doing a lot of comparison to other brands, feature
for feature, on-line offerings and in retail stores, and for
the latest feature sets, Dell's pricing is very difficult
to beat. Except for Compaq... there's no way Dell can beat
Compaq on pricing now with BTO, CTO and CCP... never. "

I did a check a few days ago on the websites for DELL and CPQ and
found that DELL's prices were 10 to 14% lower than CPQ for similarly configured desktops. Can you explain this discrepancy? Also, BTO and CTO are not in place fully yet.

Incidently, my store survey showed lots of inventory of subzeros and not much in the high end P-II systems which they said were selling well.

Regards,

Jim Kelley
